These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of PlantCare on the web at plantcare.robopioneer.ca and in the PlantCare apps for iOS and Android (together, the "Service"), operated by RoboPioneer ("RoboPioneer", "we", "us"), based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (robopioneer.ca). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher, to use PlantCare. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use PlantCare only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You sign in through Google or, on iOS, Sign in with Apple, with your identity verified by Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in account secure. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile & settings → Delete account) or on the web (Upgrade → Delete account), or by emailing us.
PlantCare offers a Free plan and paid Pro and Elite plans. Current prices are Pro US$2.99/month or US$29.99/year and Elite US$12.99/month or US$129.99/year, plus applicable taxes. In the iOS and Android apps the price is shown in your local currency by the App Store or Google Play. The price, billing period and plan features are shown before you confirm a purchase.
Auto-renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel. We will tell you in advance of any price increase, and you can cancel before it applies.
App Store and Google Play billing (iOS and Android apps). Subscriptions bought in the PlantCare iOS app are billed by Apple to your Apple Account, and subscriptions bought in the Android app are billed by Google to your Google Play account. Payment is charged when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and you keep paid features until then. Refunds for these purchases are requested from and decided by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google under their refund policies; we cannot issue or process them. Deleting your PlantCare account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.
Stripe billing (web only). Subscriptions bought on the PlantCare website are processed by Stripe. Cancel anytime from Manage billing on the website; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep paid features until then. Except where required by law, web payments are non-refundable and we do not give refunds or credits for partial periods. To request a refund where the law requires one, email us.
PlantCare uses AI models to identify plants, answer questions and suggest care and watering schedules. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Plant identifications are estimates, not confirmations.
Do not rely on PlantCare to decide whether a plant is safe to eat, touch, or keep around children or pets. Toxicity and edibility information may be missing or wrong. If a person or animal may have eaten or been exposed to a plant, contact a poison control centre, a doctor or a veterinarian immediately. PlantCare is for general information only and is not professional horticultural, agricultural, medical or veterinary advice. You are responsible for decisions about your plants and their care.
You keep ownership of the photos, notes and messages you add ("User Content"). Your garden is stored on your device. You give RoboPioneer a limited, non-exclusive licence to process User Content you submit to an AI or support feature only as needed to provide that feature. You confirm you have the right to submit it.
PlantCare's software, design, logos and content (excluding your content) belong to RoboPioneer or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use PlantCare for personal, non-commercial purposes under these Terms.
PlantCare relies on third parties including Google and Firebase (sign-in), Apple (sign-in and App Store) and Google Play (in-app payments), Stripe (web payments), OpenRouter and its model providers (AI), Open-Meteo (weather), Neon (database) and Vercel (hosting). Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services. See our Privacy Policy for details.
If you downloaded PlantCare from Apple's App Store, these Terms are between you and RoboPioneer, not Apple, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where they conflict, these Terms govern to the extent permitted. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for PlantCare. If you downloaded PlantCare from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes where practical. You may stop using PlantCare at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or misuse the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
To the extent permitted by law, PlantCare is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that your plants will thrive.
To the extent permitted by law, RoboPioneer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims relating to PlantCare is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections and rights to bring claims under the law of your country of residence.
We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use PlantCare after that means you accept the updated Terms.
